At ieso, we work together to create breakthroughs in mental health – from our team who take calls from our patients to our science and technology teams.
The Team Spotlight series will share stories from the talented individuals working at ieso, recognising their successes, celebrating their work and discovering more about what it’s like to work at ieso.
In the first of this series, we spoke to Gamze Ekinci Ozkoca about her role as Test Team Lead within Engineering. Gamze leads our Quality Assurance Team, helping to improve our products and contributing to ieso’s mission to transform mental healthcare.
Hi Gamze. Can you tell us about your role at ieso?
I joined the ieso Engineering team four and a half years ago as a Senior Quality Assurance Engineer. I’ve worked with several Scrum teams to create and maintain the products so that ieso can deliver the best mental health treatment to people in need. My main goal with the team is to build up a test automation strategy and tools with a level of confidence to release our products more frequently.
In my current role as Test Team Lead, I look after the Software Quality Assurance Team to support their personal development and deliver high quality products. I love what I do, and I would love to share my experience and passion with my team to help ieso defeat mental illness.
What interests you about mental healthcare?
Mental health is one of the most important problems in the world and, for me, online mental health support is one of the best ways to help people who are in need today.
I believe everyone who works for ieso is trying their best to make a positive impact on someone else’s life which increases my interest in what we do, day by day.
What do you enjoy most about working at ieso?
I love the fact that ieso values people. You get the chance to work with a dynamic, open, and supportive team who all believe in each other. I also love joining the company lunches, summer parties, Christmas dinners and all the employee-family activities outside of work.
And finally, what do you think the future of mental healthcare looks like?
I believe the future of mental health is looking brighter than ever. Mental health conditions are more accepted, and society is becoming more supportive of people in need of mental health treatment.
Also, people are more open to seek help when they have mental health issues. When we combine this with exciting advances in AI and new technologies, I believe we will be able to provide greater assistance in delivering mental health treatment and help more people.
I believe one day; it will be possible for everyone to reach out for mental health support as soon as they need it!
